Abstract

"Commentary" piece by Bob Sutter, vice president for the northeast region of SUEZ Energy Resources NA. Sutter tries to simplify the process of choosing an electricity provider, saying that some businesses accept the default choice because the research process is too time-consuming and confusing. On average, the typical commercial and industrial customer can shave 10 percent to 15 percent off its electricity bills by shopping for the energy supplier that is right for the firm. With a list of criteria to use in evaluating a provider.
