Abstract

"Focus on Transportation & Trade" piece with a profile of Perry Newman, a lawyer who became an international business consultant. Newman is president and founder of the Atlantica Group, which was recently acquired by the Pierce Atwood law firm in Portland. Newman is the former, and first, president of the Maine International Trade Center, where he gained contacts helpful in starting Atlantica. He was surprised to find he was getting so much work from overseas companies looking for U.S. business opportunities, which he says is the inverse of what he did for the Maine International Trade Center. He is currently working on projects with companies in Nova Scotia and Israel, among others.
