Abstract
"Focus on Education and Training" piece on Ruth's Reusable Resources of Scarborough. Ruth Libby collects used office supplies, office furniture, and computer equipment for school districts and nonprofits, which pay a $2-per-student membership fee or a flat fee of $350, if that is higher. In 2004-05, the Westbrook school district paid a $6,000 fee and took back $91,000 in supplies. From a start in her basement, Libby has outgrown her space at the Bessey School, which is to be converted to senior housing. She and her husband, Tom Libby, the only two employees, want to find an new and larger facility and hire staff, such as a development director. Libby would like to create a statewide network of centers.
