Abstract

"Focus on Education and Training" piece on four new college presidents in Maine. Mainebiz interviews David Hales, 61, of the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, who speaks about his goals for the school and its ecological mission; and Danielle Ripich, 60, of the University of New England in Biddeford, who addresses the university's challenges of furthering research, creating a college of pharmacy, and retaining male students. The other new presidents are James Baker of Maine College of Art in Portland and Mitchell Thomashow of Unity College in Unity.
