Abstract
Independent filmmakers in Maine work with low budgets hoping to reach a wider audience. Emptyhouse Film in Freeport, the entertainment division of Motion Media Film and Video, is run by director Andy Davis. He, Motion Media owner Olin Smith, and producer John Lane are producing a feature film, "Monster in the Woods," their fourth horror film in under two years. With details on Empty House's inception and film-making process and a look at Honey Tree Films in Buxton, with principals Dana Packard and Jennifer Porter; Shadow Puppets Entertainment of Bangor and CA, with principals Joshua and Seth Gass and Jeff Bower; and DiBacco Films in Westbrook, with principals Kevin and Ralph DiBacco.
