    Abstract

    "Business Maine: Midcoast & Down East" piece reporting that Steven Rowe, state attorney general, recently filed suit against a Camden attorney, saying he violated state law by improperly running a local nonprofit museum. Rowe filed a complaint against John Sanford, an attorney at Harmon, Jones & Sanford, who also serves on the board of directors of the Seal Cove Auto Museum on Mount Desert Island. The suit alleges that Sanford paid $550,000 in museum funds to his law firm from 1996 to 2005, as well as an undetermined amount in 2006 and 2007. The suit said them museum's board never approved the fees paid to Sanford's law firm.
