Abstract

Aviation companies in Maine are seeing an increase in business, with an economic impact of $124.7 million in 2014, up from $120 million in 2009. Among the signs of growth in the aviation sector was the launching last year of the Maine Aviation Business Association. The nonprofit group hopes to attract aviation businesses to Maine. Two examples of growing businesses include Tempus Jets, which has recently relocated its aircraft services to Brunswick Landing, and C&L Aerospace of Bangor, which is engaged in a $5 million expansion at the Bangor International Airport. With a sidebar detailing some of the ways the Maine International Trade Center is working to market Maine’s aviation assets internationally.
