Maine is expected to have a shortage of 3,200 nurses by 2025. Maine institutions are responding to that projection by investing in new programs to train nurses. One of the limiting factors in training new nurses is the lack of nursing faculty. Reasons for this an possible solutions are outlined. A breakdown of Maine’s nurse workforce is presented in graphical form. [images, graph]
