Abstract

The Maine Public Utilities Commission on Tuesday approved a 3 percent rate increase for Central Maine Power Co. (CMP), or just $26 million of the $83 million which the utility had requested. CMP said Tuesday that the smaller rate increase will force it to lay off some of its 2,200 workers to cut costs. Details.
