Abstract
The Federal Election Commission last week dropped 137 cases that it considers too minor to pursue, including one stemming from an accusation that former congressional candidate Patrick McGowan accepted a contribution from his business that exceeded the legal limit. The Maine GOP filed a complaint last year charging that McGowan failed to repay a $1,100 debt to the Canaan Motel, which he owns with his wife and parents.
