Abstract

The state Workers' Compensation Board, created last year by the Legislature as part of massive changes to Maine's workers' compensation system, is made up of four labor and four management members whose arguing sometimes leads to some of the members walking out of meetings. Many of the discussions between the two sides on the board reach the crisis stage before consensus is reached, but observers say that the experimental board is getting things accomplished. Details.
