Abstract

The state's Advisory Commission on Radioactive Waste yesterday voted to protest the shipment of large amounts of spent nuclear fuel from Navy vessels nationwide for storage at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery. Some on the commission fear that temporary storage might become permanent storage if the yard becomes a storage facility.
