Abstract

The town of Yarmouth and Central Maine Power Co. (CMP) are negotiating an agreement under which the town will be assured that CMP will not request huge abatements on property taxes while a townwide revaluation is completed. If the current value of CMP's Wyman Station on Cousin's Island is accurate, a revaluation would decrease the utility's share of Yarmouth's taxes from fifty percent to around thirty percent. Details.
