Abstract

Although Maine won't be on the leading edge of the development of a nationwide information superhighway, southern Maine has already seen some changes that will enable the area to adapt quickly to the new technology. Time Warner's Public Cable Co. started building a fiber-optic cable network last summer, while New England Telephone Co. has sued for the right to enter the cable television market. Details.
