House Speaker John Martin will meet today with a group of Democrats to discuss an order seeking the removal of Martin and the election of a new speaker. The sponsor of the order, Rep. James Reed Coles of Harpswell, says the two leading rule books governing the House allow the removal of the speaker, while Martin contends that impeachment is the only way he can be ousted. Details.
