Abstract

Brief article noting that state Democratic Majority Leader Dan Gwadosky and Rep. Elizabeth Mitchell, the two leading contenders for the caucus nomination to succeed House Speaker John L. Martin, have failed to reach agreement on when the caucus vote should be held. Gwadosky would like the vote to take place next week, whereas Mitchell would prefer that it be held just before the scheduled January 25 election by the full House. The caucus vote virtually assures nomination.
