Abstract

After a four-year "winter," the Maine real-estate market is beginning to experience a thaw. Vacancy rates for class A office space in Greater Portland is such that construction and renovation projects are likely this year, and the apartment market has become "red hot." Moderate growth in the number of new housing units in southern Maine is projected for the next several years.
