Abstract

Edgar Leighton, owner of Leighton's five-and-ten store in downtown Freeport, plans to close the store early next month and lease the space to an unnamed retail tenant -- Leighton has operated the 50-year-old store since 1969, moving it into its present location after a 1982 fire destroyed the original building
