Abstract

The Portland City Council's public safety committee has unanimously endorsed a proposal to establish a 1:15 AM curfew on entertainment in the city, with all establishments to be closed by 2 AM -- Police say the move will cut down on rowdiness in the Old Port, but owners of two after-hour dance clubs say the curfew will put them out of business -- The proposed curfew has to be revised before being considered by the city council -- Details
