Abstract
Steuben, a town of 1,100 people at the mouth of Gouldsboro Bay east of Ellsworth, is experiencing major problems with rats -- The privately owned town dump closed last winter, but nothing was done at the time of the closing to exterminate the rats who lived at the dump -- Residents are now dealing with the problem by shooting or poisoning the rodents, but say the town and the state Department of Environmental Protection must take measures to fully eradicate the pests -- Details
