Abstract

Ray and Pamela Pallas purchased their Westbrook house at auction in 1991, and while stripping wallpaper in the hall they uncovered a mural that covered the entire hallway and spilled into the front parlor -- Maine historian Tom Johnson believes the murals were painted around 1838, and proposed that the artist or artists who painted them were of the Pryor-Hamblen school of painting that flourished in northern New England in the mid-19th century Details
