Abstract

Nichols Portland, an auto parts manufacturer, and Longfellow Inc, the owner of the Crosby-Laughlin plant on Fore Street, have each asked Portland to create Tax Increment Financing districts to help them in their plans for expansion and renovation -- The Crosby-Laughlin plant has been proposed as the site for a Shipyard Export Ale brewery, and the owners would like to attract other tenants as well -- The districts need the approval of the city council and the state commissioner of economic and community development, and if approved would be Portland's first -- Details
