Abstract

Nine residents of Isleboro were awarded college degrees this month, and some of the classes they took to fulfill degree requirements were through interactive television. The University of Maine System has been offering interactive television courses since the late 1980s, and since then more than 100 island residents have taken advantage of the courses. Several island residents said taking the ITV courses was easier than taking the ferry to the mainland to attend classes.
