Abstract

Most New England fishermen will be prohibited from catching groundfish during the month of May, a move that many believe will disrupt the entire industry Some fishermen believe they will have trouble keeping their crews and making insurance and boat payments Officials at the Portland Fish Exchange fear they will have to lay off workers and that the Exchange could lose money -- Processors, who have looked increasingly to foreign markets for supplies, could also be adversely affected
