Abstract

Maine will receive $81 million in emergency home-heating funds intended to help poor people in the states -- The states targeted for the funds had January temperatures totaling 100 degree days more than their average over the past 30 years -- Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont had more than 200 degree days above their average in January -- The money will be distributed through the Low-Income Emergency Assistance Program
