Maine Public Television Plus was launched two years ago with federal dollars, and broadcasting from WMEA-Channel 26 in Biddeford it has shown reruns of popular PBS shows and new educational programs -- The station is presently available only in southern Maine, and although the 1992 Cable Act requires local cable systems to carry local public TV stations it does not mention low-powered TV stations like the ones that were planning to offer Plus outside of the southern part of the state -- Details, related article
