Abstract

Last month, the Maine State Lottery for the first time topped $2 million in weekly instant ticket sales, giving the state a profit of $578,000 -- David Campbell, the director of state liquor and lottery operations, credits the record-setting sales to a new marketing stragegy that offers buyers eight to ten games at a time and to the addition of a new bingo game, the first $2 instant ticket offered in Maine -- Instant tickets allow lottery players to know on the spot whether they have won or lost
