The Legislature's Business Legislation committee will tomorrow consider the proposed Franchises Practices Act, which if passed by lawmakers will give franchise operators more control over their businesses -- Iowa is so far the only state to enact stringent controls on franchisers, and opponents of the measure point to the slow growth of franchising in that state as evidence that the regulations will stifle business -- Details
