Abstract

The union representing guards at the Cumberland County Jail is concerned that the guards are not versed in the basics of operations at the new jail, despite week-long training sessions. County officials say they are confident the staff will be able to operate the new facility when it opens in April, and suggest that the concerns are politically motivated. Guard Chris Muse is running for sheriff against the incumbent, Wesley W. Ridlon.
