Abstract

A spokesman for the Portland Water District says the district's new $23.5 million ozone purification plant might be responsible for the milky-looking tap water and pink bacterial slime being found in some Portland-area homes. The milky appearance of the water is due to tiny air bubbles in the water, while it has not been proven that the slime is a by-product of the new treatment process. Details.
