Abstract

A spokesman for Pepperell Trust Co. of Biddeford yesterday announced that the bank has raised enough new capital to satisfy the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., which in 1991 and 1993 had cited the institution for unsafe and unsound banking practices. Betty Brickates of Saco, sister of former bank president George Brickates, acquired 26 percent of the bank's outstanding shares for $350,000. Details.
