Abstract

University of Maine System chancellor J. Michael Orenduff said yesterday that there was a communication problem within the Athletic Department of the University of Maine at Orono, but he found no evidence of a cover-up in the department's handling of athletic-eligibility violations. Orenduff investigated the incident after Associate Athletic Director Anne McCoy alleged that Athletic Director Mike Ploszek intended to conceal violations from the National Collegiate Athletics Association.
