Abstract

The Survey Research Center of the University of Southern Maine's Edmund S. Muskie Institute of Public Affairs conducted a survey of 350 of the 2,400 USM students who attended classes in the fall but did not return for the spring semester, and found there were more than 20 different reasons why the students left school. The university expected a drop in enrollment in the spring, but was surprised at how many students didn't return. Details.
