Abstract
The U.S. Coast Guard has replaced the old, liquid mercury lens of the Cape Elizabeth Light Station with a small aluminum and plastic beacon that is safer to maintain. The lighthouse, near Two Lights State Park, was the last on the northern East Coast to use the mercury lens. Details.
