Abstract

Daniel Schick, a biologist with the state Department of Marine Resources, said fishermen have recently been catching tons of very small shrimp, which weigh in at about 80 shrimps to the pound. Usually shrimps weigh in between 35 and 70 per pound. Schick believes the fishery would be best served if the shrimps were left along and allowed to mature until next year.
