Abstract

A telephone survey of 1,000 Mainers done for the Maine Coalition for Excellence in Education shows there is growing support in the state for school change, and that the public wants teachers to be more demanding and more accountable. The coalition is a private, nonprofit group composed of business, education and community leaders advocating for better public education. Details, survey results.
