Abstract

The state Legislature is currently considering a number of bills that would significantly improve aspects of the business climate in Maine, which are designed in part to attract new business. Under consideration are a change in tax laws that would benefit paper companies; a broadening of the investment tax credit to help certain small and mid-sized companies; a new worker training program; and an overhaul of the laws regarding credit cards.
