Abstract

Harold Marden founded Marden's Surplus and Salvage store in Fairfield nearly 30 years ago, and the business now has ten stores throughout the state. Marden's has 500 employees, does $50 million annually in business and plans within two months to open an 85,000-square-foot facility at the former Emple Knitting Mill in Brewer. Last week Marden bought the former Lincoln Street Mill in Biddeford to serve as a distribution center for his growing carpet business. Details.
