Abstract

John S. Dexter, 50, director of the Maine Chamber of Commerce & Industry for the past seven years, yesterday announced that he will resign that position effective May 20. Dexter plans to join A.G. Edwards & Sons in Portland as an investment broker. The 600-member business-advocacy organization has been under fire in recent years for not propelling the state's legislators to a more pro-business stance.
