Abstract

The Maraloi family of Romania, whose appeal for asylum was denied by Canadian authorities in 1991, arrived in Maine yesterday for a one-month stay in Biddeford. The Maralois can apply for legal immigrant status in Canada only if they do so from another country. Charitable groups in the Biddeford-Saco area rented an apartment for the family and will donate money for living expenses. Details.
