Abstract

Fleet Financial Group yesterday announced that its mortgage subsidiary, Fleet Mortgage Group, plans to shut down its office in Bangor and consolidate its New England processing in a single office in East Providence, R.I. The move will result in the loss of 78 jobs in Bangor. Fleet next week plans to begin handing out layoff notices to 275 employees at its Fleet Bank of Maine division. Details.
