Abstract

Fleet Financial Group yesterday announced that it has earmarked $31 million of its $8 billion community lending program fund for women, minorities and moderate income individuals in Maine. The lending program, called Incity, was announced in February, and some analysts saw it as the bank's way to quiet critics who said Fleet had not done enough to help disadvantaged borrowers. The Washington-Hancock County Community Agency's Microenterprise Loan Program is slated to receive $50,000 of the $31 million.
