Abstract

The Maine House last week voted 96-50 against a proposal that would have allowed the Passamaquoddy Indian tribe to build and operate a gambling casino in Calais. The Senate voted 23-11 against the measure, and many of the proponents of the plan are angry and trying to figure out what went wrong. Details.
