Abstract

Maine's Roman Catholic diocese is investigating charges by three men that they were molested by a Portland priest more than 30 years ago. The three allege that the Rev. James P. Vallely, now in his 70s and living in Florida, molested them while Vallely was a priest at St. Dominic's Church on State Street. Vallely served there between November 1956 and December 1967.
