Abstract

Maine's requirements for filing political campaign financial statements make it difficult to determine the amount of money corporations contribute to candidates. Although political action campaigns are required to file reports on contributions, the state does not require a corporation to form a PAC, meaning those corporations that choose not to form a PAC can contribute to campaigns without publiciing the contribution.
