Abstract

Article about Paul Wentworth, 76, of Freeport, who has climbed every 4,000-foot peak in New England. Now retired from his dry cleaning business, Wentworth is the creator and self-appointed steward who keeps the miles of trails that run through the ridges and gullies behind his East Street home free of brush and blown-down trees. He is also a member of Freeport's Alternative Transportation Advisory Committee that advises the Freeport Planning Committee on the need and opportunity for pedestrian and bicycle lanes. Wentworth has helped the committee focus on off-road walkways as well.
