Abstract

There are currently three off-track betting facilities in Maine, one each in Lewiston, Waterville and Presque Isle, and the state Harness Racing Commission has given tentative approval for a fourth in Bangor. Officials are considering licensing two more, leading some of the established off-track betting parlors to worry whether gamblers in the state can support all of them. Details.
