Abstract

U.S. represenative Tom Andrews one month ago had a $4,000 campaign debt, but aggressive fund raising in the early days after he declared his candidacy for the Senate has resulted in his collecting donations in excess of $215,000. Republican opponent Olympia J. Snowe has raised $66,000, bringing her campaign total to date to $147,000. Both candidates are expected to raise and spend $2 million before the November election.
