Abstract

Central Maine Power Co. yesterday unveiled a new refrigerator that uses almost one-third less electricity than current models. The SuperFridge is an outgrowth of a national competition initiated by the utility industry in 1992, and at an estimated cost of $1,200 is costlier than most consumers want. The unit will save an average of $50 annually in electric bills. Details.
