Abstract

The Republican State Convention, to be held this weekend, is expected to provide a forum for the candidates seeking to fill the seat's being vacated by Gov. McKernan and U.S. representatives Thomas Andrews and Olympia J. Snowe. The eight-page Republican platform contains no mention of abortion, which may remove it as an issue and allow the convention to focus on the candidates. Details.
